The questions we hear most often, answered straight. If yours isn’t here, a Groundwork Call is the fastest way to get it answered.

What does treehouseIT do?

We’re a technology support and consulting firm in Dublin, Ohio. We do two things: keep your day-to-day technology running quietly in the background so it doesn’t interrupt your work, and help your organization get better at technology over time so you’re not stuck reacting to whatever breaks next. We’ve been doing this since 2003.

Who do you work with?

Small businesses and nonprofits, usually with 10 to 20 people and no dedicated IT partner. Many of our clients are in media and knowledge-work businesses, and we have deep experience with nonprofits.

What area do you serve?

We’re based in Dublin, Ohio, and most of our clients are in Central Ohio, including Columbus and the surrounding suburbs. We also work remotely with clients elsewhere.

What does it cost?

It depends on what you need, and we’d rather find that out than quote you a number that turns out to be wrong. Two things have fixed prices: a Groundwork Call is free, and Seed to Sapling, our technology assessment, is $750. Ongoing support is quoted once we understand your setup.

What is a Groundwork Call?

A free, 20-minute conversation. We learn about your organization — what you do, how your team works, and where the frustration is — and you get an honest answer about whether we’re a good fit. No sales pitch.

How quickly do you respond?

During business hours we typically reply to new tickets within about 15 minutes. That’s how we work rather than a contractual promise, but it’s what our clients experience, and it’s the thing they mention most often.

What is Seed to Sapling, and what do I get?

Our $750 technology assessment. We sit down together for about an hour and work through a structured set of questions about your setup. Within a few days you receive a clear written report covering six areas: infrastructure, software and productivity, security, business continuity, remote work, and policies. It includes an IT Maturity Stage rating and specific, prioritized recommendations. There’s no obligation beyond the $750 — the report is yours to keep whether or not you continue with us.

What if we already have an IT person or vendor?

That’s common, and it doesn’t have to be either/or. Some organizations bring us in for an outside perspective before signing a long-term contract with anyone. Others have someone in-house handling the day-to-day and want a partner for the bigger picture. A Groundwork Call is a good way to work out whether we’d actually help.

Do you work with nonprofits?

Yes, and it’s a significant part of what we do. Nonprofits have the same technology challenges as any other organization but rarely the budget for a full-time IT person. We work within those constraints, prioritize what matters for the mission, and treat you like a real client.

Do I need to understand the technology to work with you?

No — that’s the point. You need a partner you trust who already does. We explain things clearly, tell you what you actually need and what you don’t, and we’ll never recommend something that doesn’t help your organization.

What happens first?

A Groundwork Call. From there, if it makes sense to go further, we start with Seed to Sapling so we both have an honest picture of where you stand. After that we build a plan and get to work.

Still Have a Question?

A Groundwork Call is free, takes 20 minutes, and comes with no sales pitch.
